Meridian 5G Router
Fast where it counts, silent where it should.
Tested by S. Iyer·Tuesday 1 September 2026·Five weeks across two buildings
We ran the Meridian in a 1930s brick house and a concrete office floor, measuring at fixed points twice daily for five weeks. Median throughput at 30 metres and two walls was 780 Mbps — the highest we have recorded from a passively cooled unit.
Thermals are the quiet achievement here. No fan, and the chassis never passed 48°C under sustained load.
In its favour
- +Held 780 Mbps at 30 m through two brick walls
- +Passively cooled and genuinely silent
- +Firmware updates signed and documented
Against
- −Web interface hides band steering three menus deep
- −No 2.5 GbE on the LAN side
