Vantage 12 E-Reader

A clean display, a slow battery, a fair price.

Tested by L. Anand·Wednesday 2 September 2026·Four weeks, 2,100 pages read

The panel is the best we have tested below $250 — at the two lowest brightness steps it reads as convincingly as print. The battery is the failure. Across three charge cycles under identical conditions we averaged nine days of ordinary reading against a claimed thirty.

If you charge weekly and read novels, it is a good machine. If you read technical PDFs on the road, it is not.

In its favour
  • +Genuinely paper-like contrast at low brightness
  • +Sideloading is unrestricted
  • +Fair price for the panel
Against
  • Battery lasted nine days, not the claimed thirty
  • Page turns stutter in large PDFs
